Agent

Sherrye Coggiola resides in the Mountains of the Carolinas with her Husband Anthony her daughter Sydney currently lives in Seattle with her Husband and Sherrye’s granddaughter Eloise. Beginning her career in Television Adverting Sales in the early nineties, forced her to learn value selling skills. She achieved great successes in an industry traditionally sold as a commodity based on ratings. Selling, training and managing others to sell this product on perceived value is where Sherrye attributes her success and personal philosophy. She took philosophy to her ‘true passion’, Real Estate investing. She has built a portfolio of investment properties using the creativity and value selling skills that she lives by, Everyone must WIN in every transaction. In 2008 Sherrye took on the task of assisting her Mother with the care of her step-father who was suffering from early onset Alzheimers, His assets included three commercial buildings, all of which were losing significant revenues because of long-term tenants struggling to survive the great recession. After being unable to negotiate an agreeable settlement with the owner of a popular restaurant in one of the buildings, she sought out local commercial agents to fill the space. Because of the current economic climate there were no takers of the 6500 sqft that accounted for over $10,000 per month in revenues to her step father. In 2010 Sherrye and her Husband Anthony, worked with the local employees to re-brand the location that held The Cantina at Historic Biltmore Village until Hurricane Helene sent 24 ft of flood words that destroyed the facility in 2024. After fifteen years in the Restaurant business which included Sherrye’s stint as the first female president of Asheville Independent Restaurant Association (AIR), Sherrye and her Husband made the tough but prudent decision to not rebuild the restaurant and are currently seeking tenants in the space as they rebuild. Sherrye is most proud of her 2013 contribution to Manna Food Bank. A unique give back opportunity at The Cantina, allows diners to ‘donate’ one or both of their side items, The Cantina contributed over $80,000 in cash, and provided for more than 650,00 meals for her friends and neighbors in need. She also served on the capital campaign committee for Manna, thus allowing her to continue her work to feed our friends and neighbors as well as those abroad. While still serving on the Advisory committee for Asheville Independent Restaurant Association, Sherrye took a position in December of 2024 with Transworld Business Advisors, serving to help MainStreet businesses in Buncombe and surrounding countries to Expand, Grow, or sell their businesses. As a 3rd generation Native of Asheville, Sherrye is looking forward to being a part of the rebuild of the region along with her Husband, Anthony, who has worked in disaster areas across the world specifically focused on rebuilding agriculture after tragedy. He is now working with the Episcopal Diocese to assist with the Communities Active in Disaster (COAD) to provide sustainable long term recovery plans. Because of her background and connections in the area she would be honored to serve as a board member for Homeward Bound and believes she can assist in bridging the gap in public and private coordination to maximize the good works being done in this area.
